Seriously? Pokémon? I’m taken in my sleep to some alternate dimension and the big bad behind it can’t come up with anything more sinister than Pokémon?
[Carol isn’t pleased or impressed by your kidnapping of her, whoever you are. There is a Taillow currently flying around in the background of the shot. Carol’s ignoring that for now.]

I’m in a generous mood today, so here’s some tips to help you next time you try to capture someone and make them believe they’re part of a video game.

One: If you put in someone pretending to be my mom, make sure she at least looks like she could be my mother. [the video shifts over quickly to Mom, who is standing in the doorway whose cheerful offer of cookies is cut off by the video moving back to Carol.] Seriously? Did she have me when she was ten?

Two: The bird’s cute [As if on cue the Taillow lands on Carol’s shoulder and chirps happily] but you can’t sway me with cute animals that I assume will battle other cute animals on command.

And finally-[Carol’s face hardens. She brings the gear very close to her face as if to heighten the effect] taking my powers doesn’t cripple me. I will find you, and I will take you down. So I suggest you give me back my powers before I get any madder.

Lady, I hate to break it to you but you're not a special snowflake in this case. Since one that woman believes everyone that shows up in her house is her child it doesn't matter what age they are. Her name is probably Mom anyway, since she has her own segment on the news.

Two, I hope you enjoy being attacked because that's part of why you have that bird in the first place. Three, no one knows who brought us here, why they did it, how they messed with some people's powers, or made some of the kidnappes human.

There are some folks that were not human beings when they came here and suddenly they are. Aliens, ponies, wolves, the undead are just the few beings that have passed through.

She thinks she's everyone's mom, but she makes some good food. Take her up on some of it, you will have a limited amount of funds right now and it'll go faster than you think.

You're powers won't come back and you will have to rely on your Taillow, which can be frustrating when you're so used to relying on yourself.

[He shrugs at the screen, unconcerned, but the smile he gives her is friendly enough. He had his own bout of freaking out about being stuck in video game land not too long ago, albeit with less threats to whatever power it was that got him there.]

You've got a leg up by knowing this whole thing's a video game about making fluff balls battle to the bitter end, though. Good job with that.

[Oh, this lady's got sass. Well, he can't fault her for that. Still, her reaction's one of the more amusing ones he's seen this newbie batch. Please don't mind this smirking teen. Contrary to his icons, he's actually around eighteen and pretty darn tall.]

Good luck finding whoever dragged us here. It's been three years, and nobody knows who or what's behind it.

The "mom" reacts the same way to everybody. Nobody really knows why, but compared to half the stuff in this world, I'd say she's pretty tame.

While I can't exactly blame you for your assumption, nothing thus far has suggested that our presence here is the result of any sort of malicious intent-well, aside from removing any powers we might have, but they automatically give you something to compensate for that and I've never quite been sure if they're actually being suppressed or this world simply can't support them outside of very specific circumstances, so even that end of things is somewhat questionable.

[... man, it is so great to see a newcomer threatening to beat the shit out of people rather than just waffling around going, "oh no, where am I???". Being lost and confused is understandable, sure, but promising an ass-kicking for whomever it was that brought them all here and looking like you could actually follow up on that promise is something that Yusuke can respect, so in light of this, he actually tones down some of his usual attitude when he responds to Carol's video. Carol will still find herself looking at a scowling teenager when she next picks up her 'Gear, though; he's putting on his Business Face for this conversation, but that face isn't actually all that divergent from his default "Come At Me" Tough Guy look. Probably because "business" for him usually involves splintering somebody's nose.]

Hate to break it to you, but threatening the network's not gonna make the bad guys show up. Believe me, I tried it when I first got here, and the only thing that came out of it was, like, ten people showing up just to bitch about how loud I was being. If the perps're on the network at all, it's probably only so they can watch us dance around like a bunch of assholes. Hell, not even the guys in charge of runnin' this place knows who brought us here, and they're supposed to be the ones with all the information. Tch. So much for that, huh.

[Okay, so that description he just gave of all those folks showing up to pick on him is an exaggeration: the only person - that he can remember, at least - who emerged from the murky depths of cyberspace to complain about his volume was that scruffy asshole cop, and the rest were pretty much just calling him out on manhandling his starter Pokemon (who is just fine now, thank you very fuckin' much). Yusuke's dramatics and the enormity of how asspained he still is over the network's response to his first broadcast aside, though, he's right about whoever it was behind this mass kidnapping being elusive as hell, and by God, does he ever sound displeased about it. He doesn't dwell on it, however, instead moving right along to tell her:]

As for your powers, forget it. They're gonna stay gone 'til this place spits you back out. Mine've been M.I.A. for about three months now.

[... y'know, not counting what happened a few weekends ago. Yusuke's not even sure any of what transpired actually even happened, though it felt too real for it not to have. Better not mention it, at any rate - no need to get this lady's hopes up for nothing.]

[Carol's pretty grumbly herself when she picks the gear up again to see Yuusuke's face. She's started walking, hell bent on getting to the next town as soon as possible. The Mom lady was nice, but she was creeping Carol out. At least she gave her lots of food for the trip.

Her Taillow, recently dubbed Helen, sits happily on her shoulder as she walks]

Yeah, I've heard as much from the others. Sucks though. I think kicking someone's ass would do my stress levels good right now.

[Just because she didn't have her strength or any of her other enhanced abilities didn't mean she didn't know how to fight. She'd just have to get use to moving a bit slower again.]
