[The pokégear comes on. Carol's sitting against a tree with a somewhat worried look on her face.]

Hey, I was wondering if there are any experts on pokémon behavior out there who might be able to help me. I was just sitting here doing some stretches when this little guy just kinda crawled into my lap and went to sleep.

[She moves the camera so that it now shows a small Pachirisu curled up on her lap. It looks very peaceful. Her Taillow and Pidgey are both staring at it curiously. She turns the gear back around so it once again focuses on her face.]

Is this normal or could he be sick? Should I take him to a pokémon center or something?

Really? I guess I'm just not use to wild animals just walking up to me like this.

[Her worried expression lessens somewhat.]

Yeap! Lots of times. When you become good friends with someone, they don't always want to leave.

Yeah, but is this normal for this kind of pokémon? If he's sick I want to get him to a center as soon as possible.

I dunno. Check the pokedex maybe.

... I mean, I don't think pokemon can get rabies.

I believe your squirrel looks fine from this angle. [ Tsunade's face is relatively focused. ] They look kinda scrawny, but they don't look malnourished. If they were sick, they wouldn't be resting so sluggishly. I think maybe just let it rest up and see what it found in you. Maybe it just thinks you can protect it, or something. [ Tsunade didn't exactly know why a pokémon would seek a human specifically but she's seen it before in the case of Tonton not going near threatening people but curling up against nicer ones. With that, Tsunade couldn't exactly make a sure hypothesis with what's going on, but he didn't look gravely ill. ]

Thank you. I'm just not use to wild animals doing this. [Carol reaches down and litely pets the squirrel. The only response she gets in a contented sigh]

Do animals have a distaste for you? [ If so, what a unique circumstance, haha. ]

I wouldn't say a distrust. The stray cats around my neighborhood seem to like me well enough, but that might be because I feed them the cat food Chewie turns his nose up at. But squirrels and birds and other small animals normally avoid humans unless there's something wrong with them.

Not here. These guys, despite how similar they are to some creatures, are completely different. I mean, I'm wearing a damn jellyfish on my forehead. [ Hey, girl. She pans out the feed to show a Tentacool wrapping her tentacles around Tsunade's head and she manages to make Tsunade look like she's wearing some weird headdress/beanie combination. ]

I mean, that pokémon has friendly written all over it.

[It's a scaled man and a Seviper on screen. The Seviper says "Seviper" before Snake, the man, actually speaks.] When it wakes up I can ask it, says Ruskin. [Snake just points to the Seviper as he says her name. He had the introduction confusion enough times so far that he's just trying to get it out of the way not.]

You can understand you pokémon? [Carol's eyebrows go up in surprise. She didn't think that was possible here, with everyone being stripped of their powers

As if on cue the Pachirisu in her lap lets out a tiny yawn and stretches. He looks up at Carol and happily chitters before reaching up for the pokégear. Carol moves it and suddenly the screen is full of electric squirrel face.]

[Snake nods. He can understand both of his because they are both snakes at least.]

...Oh! Well maybe he thought you looked like a nice person, and didn't want to be wild any longer? Perhaps he caught himself, in a way!

[Carol reaches down and begins petting the squirrel. The only response she gets is a contented sigh and a small tingle of electric energy in her finger tips]

I think that's up to you! And him! Do you want him to stay with you?

If so, I'd wait until he's awake, and ask him about it. After all, it might be rude to catch someone who's asleep...

If he were I wouldn't be worried about this being strange behavior.

I wouldn't know, mine don't really cuddle up like that - Except Ben, but he's a little big for that.
